We provide a 3M single bulb seal that is placed around the perimeter on the bed rails and bulkhead to prevent water / dust from coming in. Our rear hatch also has a bulb seal that seats on the top of the tailgate in the closed position. In addition, we provide 2 pieces of butyl tape that can be placed at the bulkhead rail where there is a step down from the side plastic bed rail to the bulkhead to help prevent water / dust intrusion.
It is important to note that no truck bed is completely sealed, and some water intrusion may be possible although greatly reduced with the bulb seal. Likely water intrusion is often found around the tailgate perimeter.
There will be an Overland Vehicle Systems cross bar option available. The cross bars will mount to the included cap rails (the rails that go parallel with the frame rails). The bars will have a dynamic weight rating of 325lbs and a static weight rating of 750lbs and have a rise of approximately 2” above the cap.
When using the optional Overland Vehicle Systems cross bars, the dynamic weight limit is 325lbs with a static weight limit is 750lbs.
The included rails were designed around the Overland Vehicle Systems optional cross bars. The included roof rails do have a 19mm slot which will allow for various systems. We will be testing various aftermarket crossbar systems and will eventually update the instructions on compatible systems.
The current design is a fixed rear window with no drop down / pass through accessibility.
Each Expedition Truck Cap will come with keyed-alike locks.
The Expedition Truck Cap cannot be locked or opened from the inside of the bed.
The Expedition Truck Cap vent is a fixed vent located above the glass on the panel located closest to the cab. The vent allows for air ventilation as well as circulation to reduce condensation inside the topper. It also allows air to escape during closing of all of the panels.
The only drilling involved in the Expedition is the hole you drill for the wiring portion of the Tacoma installation.

Just received mine, it's definitely what I was looking for at the price point. Assembly wasn't bad at all and all the parts seem to be very robust. I'd take this over a traditional fiberglass type camper shell every time.

Installation was easy, looks great! only had it on a couple days so I can't talk about longevity yet but the only downside I can see so far is with the latches. There is a little rubber nub that pops off very easily where the latch contacts the inside of the topper, I recommend keeping an eye on that.

Drove around town today with this lovely cap on my white 2018 Toyota Tacoma and it looks amazing! Very easy to assemble and it feels and looks very heavy duty. All the hardware was organized and just right for the job. Butyl tape (a nice touch) went on the gap in the bulkhead just as stated. I feel as though this cap was very thought out. I saw some concerns about the hinges and bolts on top as they are on the outside of the cap.. but I would imagine getting that hardware out when there is a nylon nut on the other end and it’s inaccessible as it’s on the inside, would make that a very difficult task for a thief. Shipping was professional from beginning to end. Feels like a new truck! Thank you OVS and all who made it possible!

Seems like a very high quality product at a great price! Love the self opening side and back doors and lockable lots profile latches! Pretty easy install! Grab the installation guide from the OVS website as there is no manual in the boxes! And have 4 capable folks handy when actually get ready to place the cap and maybe a 5th to act as a sight guide to tell you when it’s square! Great product and looks amazing on my 2022 taco!
